Ithaca is much more than an events calendar. At the heart of the society is a programme of regular activities that give members the chance to learn, create, and connect — week in, week out, throughout the year.
Our classes cover Greek dancing, Byzantine iconography, Greek cooking, and Greek music, and are open to all levels of experience. Whether you are picking up something completely new or reconnecting with a tradition you grew up with, there is a place for you. Classes are kept small and friendly, reflecting the community spirit that defines everything we do.
For those who want to take things further, Ithaca has a performance dance team that represents the society at festivals and public events, and our own music band, which brings together members who share a love of Greek musical heritage. Both are a natural next step for anyone who starts with our regular classes.
Through our named scholarships, we also support students who show dedication and promise — a reminder that learning and culture go hand in hand.
All of our activities are grounded in the same idea: that Greek language, art, music, and tradition are living things, worth practising, sharing, and passing on.
